1. Wastewater Mediation Mediation scheduled for 6/2 for the Wastewater Staff contract was cancelled by the County. Teamsters 117 and a small group of employees in the Wastewater Project Control & Contract Management work group have filed a petition with the State (PERC) to change representation from TEA to Teamsters. As a result of this petition, King County cancelled the June 2nd mediation session. This action by a small group of individuals in collusion with the Teamsters threatens to delay Wastewater contract negotiations and the release of COLA until the legal issues are resolved. 2. Political Action The TEA Political Action Committee has recommended, and the TEA Board approved, a contribution to King County Councilmen Larry Phillips. As a result, TEA members are invited to join Councilmember Phillips and celebrate at his annual Salmon Bake gathering on Saturday, June 6th from 1-4pm at the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center in Discovery Park. 3. Transit Members - Medical Benefit Spouse Access Fee Did King County withhold money from your retro check for the Medical Benefit Spouse Access Fee for 2007 and 2008? If so, TEA needs to hear from you. TEA has filed a class grievance based on King County's withholding of wages and we need to confirm who should be included in the class. Please contact Ken Madden to confirm that your name is on the class list. 4. Advertisements
