News from previous Special Meeting, December 4

CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL OF REPRESENTATIVES

At the December 4th TEA Special Meeting the board voted unanimously to establish the position of Chairman of the Council of Representatives. The position will entail identifying Representatives and establishing the Council in the position of communications described in the bylaws. The person in the position will attend all board meetings in an advisory capacity. The position will be an acting appointment until the Council elects it’s own chair. Patty Overby was appointed to be the first in this position.

TRAINING FOR COUNCIL OF REPRESENTATIVES AND BOARD

The President announced that our lawyer, Jim Cline, will be presenting training for the Council of Representatives and TEA Board of Directors in the near future. The training will include communications and basic labor organization issues. Jim is developing a schedule and syllabus. Watch this space for more information.

TEA Member Receives Award

On December 5, 2001, the Mountains to Sound Greenway held their annual awards and recognition dinner. This is an annual affair where the greenway recognizes people and organizations that have contributed to the success of the Greenway. Peggy Leonard, from our biosolids staff, received the citation of merit along with a select group of others such as outgoing Mayor Paul Schell Here are the details of the award:

TEA Logo Design Procedures Approved December 4

A proposal from the Logo Committee was presented to the membership on 12/4 and the following Request for Artwork and Selection Guidelines were approved.

Request For Artwork Submittals

Deadline:

February 1, 2002

Purpose:

Provide the Technical Employees Association with a distinctive symbol (logo).

Intended Uses:

The selected logo may be applied to the future design of TEA letterheads, envelopes, business cards and tee-shirts.

Requirements*:

  • The artwork must be a distinctive symbol only, not to include a proposed slogan for the purposes of this selection process.
  • The letters "TEA" or "Technical Employees Association" may be used in the design.
  • The design must have clarity, and be suitable for reduction and application to the intended uses.
  • Submittals shall be black and white only, no half-tones or additional colors.
  • Submittals for the selection process shall be on 8.5"x11" paper.

Selection Process:

Artwork submittals conforming to the required criteria described above will be presented to the Technical Employees Association general membership for voting.

* Artwork that does not adhere to the requirements listed above will not be considered for selection.
